We Will Not be Silenced is a campaign created by a high school junior to combat the way women are silenced every day. Will you be silent? #nosilence
We are proud to be partnering with We Will Not Be Silenced as they help us spread the word of domestic violence and teen dating violence through our TEaCH (Teens Educating and Changing Hate) Program at two of the local charter schools.

SRD Straightening Reins offers our clients, and their children, EAGALA Equine assisted therapy sessions weekly. The clients have a team of 3 assisting with the therapy:a mental health professional, an EAGALA trained specialist, and the animals. Each session is approximately one and a half hours. During this time, the clients first learn different techniques to get comfortable with the animals, such as groom and connect. They then move to a topic, such as communication, parenting, self-esteem, and self confidence. They use metaphors through out the session to compare the teachings to real life. We find that the Equine assisted therapy has helped in the process of healing, and growing.

Straightening Reins’ mission is to transform the lives of at-risk youth and their families by providing the building blocks to deal with life on life’s terms. As we model and support positive choices, our youth will realize the infinite possibilities available and become productive members in their communities

Straightening Reins will show our youth that they have choices, and the choices they make will affect them for the rest of their lives.
